How to Play DVD movies on Android Phone

In this article, we will give you the method to rip your movie on DVD disc to android phone, as well as how to transfer the DVD rip for Android phone via USB.

Step 1. Load DVD files

Install and launch the top DVD to Android Converter above. Click the “DVD” icon to load DVD movie. After the DVD files are loaded, you can preview them on the right viewing window and take snapshots of your favorite movie scene. ISO and IFO files are also supported.


Tip: If you need to rip DVD with wanted subtitles and audio track, you can click the drop down menu after “Subtitles” and “Audio” to select your desired tracks.


Step 2. Choose output format

Select an Android friendly format, e.g. H.264 .mp4 for conversion. Basically the “Common Video -> H.264 Video (*.mp4)” is a universal format for Android tablets and smartphones.

Besides, there are optimized formats for Samsung, Motorola, Acer, Asus, Sony, Toshiba, HTC, etc branded Android devices; choose a proper one as you need.

Step 3. Start to rip DVD for Android

Transfer RIPPED DVD Movies to Android

Windows transfer

  1. Make sure your device’s screen is unlocked.
  2. Connect your device to your computer using a USB cable.
  3. On your device, pull down your notification drawer by swiping down from the top of the screen. Touch the USB for… notification and then Transfer files (MTP).
  4. Use the File Transfer window that pops up on your computer to drag and drop files, just like other external devices.
  5. Eject your device from Windows, then unplug the USB cable.

Mac transfer

To transfer media files, Android File Transfer must be installed on your computer. Android File Transfer is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 or later and Android 3.0 or later.

  1. Download and install Android File Transfer on your computer.
  2. Open Android File Transfer. (The next time you connect your device, it should open automatically.)
  3. Make sure your device’s screen is unlocked.
  4. Connect your device to your computer using a USB cable.
  5. On your device, pull down your notification drawer by swiping down from the top of the screen. Touch the USB for… notification and then Transfer files (MTP).
  6. Use the Android File Transfer window that pops up on your computer to drag and drop files.
  7. Disconnect the USB cable when you’re finished.

Note: Trouble transferring files through USB

If you’re having trouble transferring files, try the following solutions:

  1. Try a different USB cable. Not all USB cables can transfer files.
  2.  Test the mini-USB port on your Nexus device by connecting your device to a different computer.
  3. Test the USB port on your computer by connecting a camera or other device with USB.
  4. Update your Android OS to the latest version available.
  5. Restart your device.
  6. Restart your computer.

Windows troubleshooting

  1. Check your computer’s settings to make sure Windows automatically detects new hardware.

Mac troubleshooting

  1. Make sure that Android File Transfer is compatible with your computer. You must have Mac OS X 10.5 or later and Android 3.0 or later.
  2. Make sure the Android File Transfer application is open.
